Bio

Heidi Collins serves as the Vice President, Chief Application Officer for Stanford Health Care, a leading $10 billion academic health system. She is responsible for all aspects of the enterprise applications portfolio that support the Stanford Health Care and Stanford Medicine, including defining the investment mix, overseeing the portfolio structure, and accountability for software implementation and operations.  She is a strategic partner to senior business, operations, and clinical leaders of the health system, charged with aligning software investments to create value for business units, patients, and customers.  Her expertise centers on modernizing healthcare technology to address AI and other technology transformations, enhancing strategic partnerships, and streamlining governance and organizational design.

Heidi has 25 years of experience in healthcare management. Previously, Heidi held several technology executive roles at UCSF Health, managing clinical and business information systems to support care delivery. Prior to UCSF, she was the CFO and VP of Operations at Nantucket Cottage Hospital, where she reduced operating costs by 20% and significantly boosted physician recruitment. She also worked in several financial and operational roles at Mass General Brigham health system. Heidi holds an MPH from Yale University and a BS from UCLA.

Heidi has a proven track record of delivering strategic initiatives across complex organizational ecosystems. Her leadership has been integral in building a robust IT infrastructure that aligns with organizational goals, as well as developing operational models that foster growth, scalability, and adaptability in rapidly evolving environments to ensure a prepared workforce for next generation technologies, including artificial intelligence products and tools.
