As Vice President and Chief Nursing Informatics Officer at Stanford Health Care, Gretchen Brown, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, integrates her nursing background with information technology, showcasing her leadership and versatility. She helped establish the Clinical Inpatient Access hub for efficient patient flow and has held interim roles as Director/Associate and Chief Nursing Informatics Officer, overseeing areas from Emergency Medicine to Inpatient Care Services.

In 2019, she played a vital role in launching Stanford Health Care's hospital tower, where she led Patient Care Services and executed the Acuity Adaptable Unit strategy. It transformed Stanford's healthcare delivery, offering personalized, adaptable care across various service lines.

Following the hospital activation, Gretchen focused on refining clinical technology platforms and Informatics practices, concentrating on technology integration and data analysis healthcare utilization.

In her Informatics leadership role, she drives initiatives and fosters innovation in health records and clinical technologies. By redesigning a patient hub and implementing a video conferencing solution, she empowers patient experience and simplifies future patient room technology integration.
