The Stanford Medicine Technology and Digital Solutions team was formed to provide the Stanford Medicine community with the most innovative technology services as efficiently as possible. Led by Michael Pfeffer, CIO and Michael Halaas, Chief Operating Officer and Associate Dean in the School of Medicine, the unified organization brings together the best of the School of Medicine and Stanford Health Care IT to enable new opportunities for groundbreaking work and compassionate care. Together, the Technology and Digital Solutions team will work to break down historic organizational barriers to enable even greater collaboration across Stanford Medicine hospital and clinics, and the entire University.

Shared Services

Christian Lindmark

The Shared Services team is comprised of five teams which support staff, faculty and patients across all of our facilities. The Customer Experience and Support Services team includes Desktop Engineering, Field Service, Service Desk, Audio/Visual, Communication Technology, and Identify & Access Management. The Infrastructure team provides Server, Storage and Network Engineering and Operation support, Enterprise and Solutions Architecture, Incident Management as well as manages our physical Data Centers locations. The Technical Services team supports our Epic technical infrastructure as well as our interoperability platform. The Bio-Medical Engineering team supports all patient and clinical care medical devices in inpatient and outpatient facilities. The Facilities and Campus Transformation team represents IT in all construction and renovation projects across the organization.

Innovation & Translation

Michael Halaas

The Innovation and Translation team focuses in the areas of Research Technology, Informatics, Integrated Data and Analytics, Novel Applications and Educational Technology. Working in close collaboration with faculty, staff and students, this suite of activities work together to create leading edge solutions to propel innovation, bridge the three missions, and advance the effective use of data for clinical, research, education and operational activities. The group provides support for learning spaces, educators and students, as well as technology solutions to support administrative operations for the School of Medicine.

 

Clinical Application Development

Aditya Bhasin

The Clinical Application Development Team is responsible for development of all web properties for the School of Medicine and Stanford Health Care as well as routine maintenance for Stanford Health Care, Valley Care and University Health Care Alliance. Key custom applications include: MyHealth, PRISM (Physician Referral Portal), SHC Connect, Identity Clearing House and related identity management application. Services include custom software design, development, devops and portfolio management.

 

Business & Clinical Applications

Gary Fritz

The Business & Clinical Applications team supports over 800 clinical, financial and revenue cycle applications for Stanford Health Care, Valley Care and University Healthcare Alliance. Services include portfolio management, new applications acquisition, implementations and routine maintenance for the enterprise. Key applications include: the Epic Electronic Health Record, Sectra Imaging system and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). 

Business Operations

Michelle Fanner

The Business Operations team provides finance, operations, accounting, procurement and legal services to support Technology and Digital Solutions operations.

 

Information Security

Mike Mucha

The enterprise risk management program works to prevent and mitigate disruption of institutional strategies and operations due to dynamic global and sector threats. Services include risk assessments, technical controls, operations, monitoring, incident response and audit.

 

Project Management Office

Partnering with teams across the TDS organization, the Project Management Office (PMO) leads projects from intake through delivery. This group is also responsible for developing project management competency across the organization.

 

Enterprise Architecture

The Enterprise Architecture & Integration Team supports the uniform use and management of technical infrastructure for all entities in support of our organization's mission and goals.
